It's "Road Trip Week"! We're starting off in our hometown which also happens to be the birthplace of the best. cheesesteaks. ever.
"Philly Cheesesteaks" (6 quart pot)
~2 lbs round steak, sliced
~2 T butter, melted
~3 onions, sliced
~2 green bell peppers, sliced
~1 T garlic pepper blend
~salt, to taste
~1/2 c water
~2 beef bouillon cubes
~8 hoagie rolls
~American cheese
Combine steak, butter, onions, green pepper, garlic pepper blend, salt, water, and bouillon cubes in crock pot and mix well.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Mix again.
Remove mixture using a slotted spoon.
Pile mixture on rolls.
Top with cheese.
Broil until cheese is melted.
These were delicious cheesesteaks, but they are NOT Philly Cheesesteaks. I drowned some of mine in ketchup to make it more "authentic", but really, all that did was make me want to go to Philly so I could get an actual Philly cheesesteak. Yum.
