Have I mentioned that fall is my favorite time of year? I've decided to do another week of autumn inspired meals. Because. I. Can.
"Apple Cider Turkey" (6 quart pot-Hamilton)
~5 lb bone-in turkey, (thawed, if frozen)
~salt and pepper to taste
~1/3 c apple cider
Place turkey in crock pot.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Pour apple cider over top.
Cover and cook on low for 10 hours (or until 190 degrees)
5 servings.
This was good. I love that you can cook an entire turkey in a crock pot. I need to do it more often.
"Autumn Carrots" (6 quart pot-Rival)
~2 pounds baby carrots
~1/3 c brown sugar
~1/3 c orange juice
~2 T butter, melted
~2/3 t cinnamon
~1/8 t nutmeg
Dump carrots in greased crock pot.
Mix all other ingredients in a small bowl.
Pour mixture over carrots.
Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
8 servings.
When my other half came home from work, he asked me if I crocked dessert. These carrots SMELLED so good. Yankee should bottle it up and sell it as a candle. He's not a big fan of carrots, but he REALLY liked them. I think they tasted as good as they smelled!
