Dented.

We're putting a nice big dent in Brad's pantry. I baked (not crocked...sorry, guys) a spice cake mix last night that expired in 2005. 2005! We must have digestive tracts of steel because we're still here AND we haven't had to figure out which ER is the closest one to us yet. (Although my little helper is a two-year-old mini Evel Knievel, so maybe I should look it up, anyway. Yes? Ok. Done.)

What fun things are in Brad's pantry? Day 16.

~2 lbs pork tenderloin (I bought this.)
~1 onion, sliced (This, too.)
~1 (21 oz dented) can apple pie filling (Expired in 2010.)
~1 c pecan halves (Expired in 2011.)

Add all ingredients to crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Shred pork.

6 servings.
This was pretty yummy. It was sweet, but not overly so. I served it with a salad (that once again didn't make it into the picture), but I imagine it'd be just as yummy on a roll of some sort.

  1. My mom crocked a totally awful meal for me recently where she threw some veggies, meat and apples into the crock pot and then added a jar of cinnamon applesauce and proceeded to add more cinnamon - and then served me this for lunch before the potatoes or carrots were even cooked through (I should also probably add that I don't think any of the meat ended up on my plate - she kept it all for herself so she could table-feed the dog). Anyway - worst meal I have ever eaten. I couldn't even choke it down. Now I have an immense aversion to any crock pot meal that calls for apples or cinnamon in any form. But, I will take your word for it that this was yummy :)
