Someone sent me a link with a bunch of recipes. This BBQ beef recipe was one of them...
"BBQ Beef Sandwiches" (6 quart pot) The original recipe is HERE.
~3 1/2 lbs eye round roast, cut in half
~2 t salt, divided
~2 garlic cloves, minced (Because I don't have a garlic press.)
~1 (14 oz) can beef broth (Because...do they even make 10 oz cans?)
~1 c ketchup
~1/2 c packed brown sugar
~1/2 c lemon juice
~3 T steak sauce
~1 t pepper
~1 t Worcestershire sauce
~hamburger buns
~dill pickle slices
Sprinkle roast with 1 t salt.
Mix 1 t salt, garlic, broth, ketchup, sugar, lemon juice. steak sauce, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
Pour half of mixture into crock pot.
Place roast in crock pot.
Pour rest of mixture into crock pot.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 7 hours. (I thought high was wrong, but I did it anyway.)
Shred beef with two forks.
Keep on warm for 3 hours* (Because your other half got home later than he thought he would and your don't get to eat until after your little helper goes to bed)
Serve beef on rolls and top with pickle slices.
Inhale your food while watching season 4 of Arrested Development.*
*optional
12 servings.
I don't know if it was because we were starving from having to wait so long to eat OR if it's because bbq anything in a crock pot is fabulous, but this was awesome.
