Who's the boss?

Today's ingredient was going to be red curry paste, but I had to make a substitution last Friday and it just so happened to be red curry paste. I broke the rules. Again.

"African Beef Curry" (6 quart pot)

~1 lb ground beef, browned
~1 onion, thinly sliced
~1 green onion, diced
~1 apple, peeled, cored, and chopped
~1 tomato, chopped
~2 t red curry paste (The recipe simply said "curry".  Not curry powder. Not curry paste. Just plain curry. I have no idea what that means.*)

Add all ingredients except rice to crock pot.
Mix well.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. (The recipe in the cookbook said 8 hours on high, but I'm pretty sure that would've burned everything.)
Serve over rice.

4 servings.
This was not even remotely as curry-y as I thought it was going to be. It was actually kind of bland. Except for the apples. The apples were REALLY good. I'm thinking the editors of my cookbook skipped this recipe completely.

*But now I'm thinking it was supposed to be powder. Even though ALL of the other recipes in the book that call for curry powder say POWDER. Grr. Argh.
