When I saw that John Madden has a beef bbq recipe, I had to make it. Sports people know bbq. It's in their DNA. Also, I'm not entirely sure I'd ever had beef bbq before. Chicken and pork, yes. Beef? Not sure.
"John Madden's Beef BBQ" (6 quart pot)
~3 lbs boneless beef roast
~2 onions, chopped
~2 T butter
~ 2 garlic cloves, minced
~1/2 c celery, minced
~1 1/2 c water
~1/2 t dry mustard
~2 c ketchup
~3 T apple cider vinegar
~3 T Worcestershire sauce
~4 T brown sugar
~1/4 t paprika
~1 t tabasco sauce
~1/2 t pepper
~2 t salt
~1 1/2 t chili powder
Place beef in crock pot.
Mix all other ingredients in a medium bowl.
Pour mixture into crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Shred beef with forks.
8 servings.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: slow cooked meat and bbq sauce are meant to be crocked. The. End.
