There was a ton of stew beef on clearance. I bought a 3 pound package. This is what I did with the first half of the package.
"Old Stew Beef" (6 quart pot)
~1.5 lbs stew beef
~1 cup (way old and not crunchy anymore) celery, chopped
~1 (way old and wrinkled) red bell pepper, chopped
~1/3 c onion flakes
~salt and pepper
~1 garlic clove, chopped
~1 bottle Sam Adams Old Fezziwig Ale
~wagon wheel pasta, cooked
Add all ingredients except pasta to greased crock pot.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
Remove everything from crock pot with a slotted spoon.
Serve over pasta.
Serve in a bowl because all of your plates are in the dishwasher and you're too lazy to hand wash two of them.
4 servings.
I love crocking beef in beer. Who am I kidding?! I love crocking anything in beer. My other half thought that this could've used a sauce of some kind, but I'm convinced that the only reason he felt that way was because I served it in bowl. I thought it was rather tasty. Even my taste buds thanked me for giving them the day off in the spiciness department.
