It's "Top 10 Week"! This week, I'm crocking some of the recipes that appear on top 10 rated recipes on the official crock pot website.
This is what I crocked yesterday. It's number 8.
"Swiss Steak" (6 quart pot)
The original recipe is here.
This is what I did.
~1.25 lbs flank steak
~1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
olive oil
1 pound grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 cup onion, sliced
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 tablespoon bold steak sauce
rice, cooked
Cut beef into 1 inch cubes.
Mix flour, salt, and pepper in small bowl.
Toss beef in mixture until evenly coated.
Add olive oil to large skillet and heat on medium.
Brown beef on all sides.
Add beef to crock pot.
Add tomatoes, onion, celery, and steak sauce.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Serve with cooked rice.
4 servings.
This was good. I wouldn't put it in my personal top 10, but I can definitely see why it's popular on the site. It's easy to make and it makes taste buds happy.
