A tale of two sauers.

Teresa picked 30. (Thanks Teresa!) Number 30 was...

"Round Steak Sauerbraten" (6 quart pot)

~1 envelope brown gravy mix (I used a low sodium one.)
~2 T plus 1 1/2 t brown sugar
~2 1/2 c cold water, divided
~1 c chopped onion
~2 T white vinegar
~2 t Worcestershire sauce
~4 bay leaves
~2.5 lbs beef top round steak, cut into 3-inch x1/2-inch strips (Mine was only 1.75 lbs.)
~2 t salt
~1 t pepper
~1/4 c cornstarch
~hot cooked egg noodles

In crock pot, combine the gravy mix, brown sugar, 2 c water, onion, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and bay leaves.
Sprinkle beef with salt and pepper; stir into gravy mixture.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is tender.
Combine cornstarch and remaining water until smooth; stir into beef mixture.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes or until thickened.
Discard bay leaves.
Serve with noodles.

10 servings. (If you follow the card's directions.)
This was REALLY good. I think the other sauerbraten recipe knocked this one out of the park, but that one would be pretty tough to beat, me thinks. I mean...it has cookies in it and you can't really argue with that.
