Someone sent me this recipe awhile ago. I've made a recipe similar to it before...
"Honey Sesame Chicken" (The original recipe is HERE.)
~6 chicken thighs (I used boneless, skinless.)
~small yellow onion, finely chopped
~2 garlic cloves, minced
~1/2 c honey
~1/2 c low-sodium soy sauce
~4 T tomato paste
~2 t sesame oil
~3 T cornstarch
~1/4 c cold water
~2 c broccoli florets (Leftover from the veggie tray from our housewarming.)
~rice, cooked
~toasted sesame seeds
Place chicken in crock pot.
Mix onion, garlic, honey, soy sauce, tomato paste, and sesame oil in crock pot.
Pour mixture over chicken.
Cover and cook non low for 6 hours.
Remove chicken and shred with 2 forks.
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl.
Add mixture to crock pot liquid and stir.
Increase to HIGH.
Add shredded chicken to crock pot and cook for 20 minutes.
Steam broccoli.
Spoon rice onto plate. Top with broccoli. Top with chicken and sauce. Top with sesame seeds.
4 servings.
Yum. Other than learning that our rice cooker overcooks veggies, this was AWESOME. We wanted to eat it all, but we do have SOME self control.
