Chef Seuss.

Kids love Dr. Seuss. And eating. And food dye. And getting messy. And being creative. (Who doesn't?)

So...I created this. And I got messy using food dye. And I ate it.

"Green Eggs and Ham" (6 quart pot)

~1 lb cooked ham, diced
~32 oz frozen hash browns
~1 onion, chopped
~2 c shredded sharp cheddar
~12 eggs
~1 cup milk
~1 t pepper
~1 t salt
~green food dye (I used what we had left which was probably about 1/2 t)

Dump 1/2 of hash browns in greased crock pot.
Dump 1/2 of ham and cheese on top.
Dump 1/2 of onions on top.
Repeat steps 1-3.
Mix all other ingredients in a medium bowl.
Dump egg mixture on top.
Cover and cook on low for 9 hours.

This is what it looked like when it was finished crocking:
And THIS is what it looked like after I scooped it out onto a plate:
Radioactive? No. Delicious?

YES! I do so like green eggs and ham. Thank you! Thank you, Sam-I-Am! This is what I was aiming for when I put together last week's "Bacon Anything". I might have to do this again, but with BACON and minus the green. I'm also totally going to make this again after I go out and buy "Green Eggs and Ham" and then read it to my "little helper" a zillion or so times.
