This is not something I would have even considered to crock a year ago. Ricotta AND sausage in the same dish? Eew. Double eew, even. Luckily for us all, a lot can happen in a year.
"Supreme Pizza Lasagna" (6 quart pot)
~12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
~1 t Italian seasoning
~12 oz sausage, browned and drained
~24 pepperoni slices
~2 (26 oz) jars spaghetti sauce (I used Muir Glen's organic Garlic Roasted Garlic.)
~1/4 c water
~16 oz ricotta cheese
~2 c grated mozzarella cheese
Break 4 noodles and fit in bottom of greased crock pot.
Stir italian seasoning and sausage.
Spread half of mixture over noodles.
Lay 12 pepperoni slices over sausage.
Layer a third of the spaghetti sauce, half of the water, half of the ricotta, and a third of the mozzarella over meat.
Add another layer of noodles, sausage, pepperoni, and a third of the spaghetti sauce.
Spread remaining water and ricotta over the sauce, then another third of the mozzarella.
Layer remaining noodles, sauce, and mozzarella over top.
Cover and cook on low for 5 hours. (DO NOT OVERCOOK.)
10 servings.
Oh. My. Goodness. Meat lovin' pizza and lasagna fans should make this. Right now. It's absolutely fabulous.
Who am I and what have I done with myself?
