Be our guest.

As if it's an automatic reflex, "This might be terrible" always escapes my lips as I place an original recipe on the table. I get extra nervous when we have a guest/guests. I LOVE to cook for people, but I'm not a foodie (AT ALL...like you haven't noticed), so my experiments always make me super nervous. We had an sorta kinda unexpected visitor join us for dinner tonight. I knew he was staying the night, but I had no idea if he was joining us for dinner. (Hi Baker!)

"The Sagey Sausage Experiment" (6 quart pot.)

~16 oz pkg sage flavored pork sausage, browned and drained
~1 shallot, diced
~2 garlic cloves, chopped
~1 sweet potato, peeled and chopped
~1 Fuji apple (From Panera. Ha!) cored and chopped
~1 c cranberries
~1 t marjoram
~1 t thyme
~rice, cooked

Add all ingredients except rice to crock pot.
Mix.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
Serve over rice. (I wasn't GOING to serve it with rice, but I was afraid it wasn't going to be enough food for 3 adults. I was probably right.)

4 servings.
Yum! It wasn't terrible! It was actually pretty delicious. This turned out WAY better than I thought it would. As I was washing the dishes, I spotted Baker picking at the bits left in the crock pot, so it's safe to assume he liked it, too.
