Keep on keepin' on.

I'm so beat, I can barely think of anything even slightly witty to say.

"Sleepless Roast" (6 quart pot)

~2.5 lb chuck roast
~1 turnip, peeled and chopped
~1 parsnip, peeled and chopped
~1 sweet potato, peeled and chopped
~1 onion, chopped (From the CSA.)
~2 garlic cloves, chopped (From the CSA.)
~1/2 c cooking sherry
~1 T Worcestershire sauce
~1 T liquid smoke
~salt
~pepper

Place roast in crock pot.
Dump turnip, parsnip, sweet potato, onion, and garlic on top.
Pour sherry, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke on top.
Sprinkle a smidge of salt and pepper over everything.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Keep on warm for 2 1/2 additional hours while you desperately try to get your toddler to go to sleep after the first nap-free day he's had in a REALLY long time.*

*optional

4 servings.
This was SO good. My other half has demanded that I make it more often. He says it's "freakin' delicious". If I hadn't baked (YES, baked. I do use my oven sometimes. Shh...don't tell my crock pots.) a pumpkin pie for dessert, we definitely would've demolished the entire roast. Mmm...
