The sky is falling.

We don't have a lot of food in the house because I haven't done a proper grocery trip in 2 weeks and taking my little helper with me has become a nightmare (Why hello there, "terrible twos"!) , so I'm just kind of winging it this week. We'll see what happens. Santa gifted me with some fun things to play with, but you all are going to have to wait for next week for that. K? K.

"New Years Chicken and Rutabaga"

~2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
~1 rutabaga, peeled and chopped
~1 c baby carrots
~1 T green onions, chopped
~1 c Safeway Select Pear and White Wine Vinaigrette
~1 t ground coriander
~1 t ground tarragon
~dash of salt and pepper
~rice, cooked

Add all ingredients (except rice) to crock pot.
Mix.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours.
Serve over rice.

4 servings
This smelled amazing while it was crocking. Mmm... And it didn't disappoint. Rutabagas are new to me  (I think this was only my second or third time trying them), so I don't really know what to put them in. So far, I feel like they're the tofu of the vegetable world because they don't really taste like anything until they soak up the juices from other things. Am I wrong? Maybe I'm using them wrong. Are there any foodies out there who can help a sista' out?
