Fake out.

Going gluten-free likely means we're not ordering Chinese food anytime soon. My other half has two go-tos and they are both chock full of gluten-y goodness. Is there anything that's NOT?  I was super excited to make this because one of his go-tos is the amazingness that is "The General".

"General Tso's Chicken" (6 quart pot)

The original recipe is HERE.

~2 chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces
~4 garlic cloves, minced
~3 T brown sugar
~1 t dried ginger
~2 T soy sauce (The second ingredient in the one we had in the fridge is wheat, so I bought a brand new bottle. It's gluten-free AND lower sodium. Woot!)
~1/2 t crushed red pepper
~1 (16oz pkg) frozen stir-fry vegetables
~rice, cooked

Add chicken, garlic, sugar, ginger, soy sauce, and pepper to crock pot.
Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
Top with veggies.
Increase to high and crock for an additional hour.
Serve over rice.

4 servings.
The name of this crock is kind of a misnomer if you ask me. It's not breaded. The sauce isn't gooey. It is, however, really, really good. AND unlike ACTUAL General Tso's Chicken, you don't feel guilty after inhaling your dinner.
