I've never cooked a ham. Not even way way back when I actually used my oven on a daily basis. Green Eggs and Ham? Yes. I've crocked that. Regular old ginormous ham that barely fits in a crock pot? No. Not yet. Until today.
"Maple Ham" (6 quart pot.)
The original recipe is HERE.
~9 lb bone-in spiral-cut ham (It was the smallest one Safeway had.)
~2 c pineapple juice
~1 c dark brown sugar
~1/2 c maple syrup
Put ham in crock pot flat-side down.
Mix remaining ingredients in a small bowl.
Pour mixture over ham.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Baste with juices and allow to sit "20 minutes" on warm. (My other half got home from work WAY late today, so 20 minutes turned into about an hour.)
10 servings.
It's fall apart ham slathered in sugary awesomeness. So good. I need to find more ham recipes. This opens a whole new world!
